Midsummer Update

August 2015
Well, well here we are 8 months after our last posting.
At the time of our last writing  Jane had just started on the Affatinib post approved clinical trial in London. This treatment has us travel to London every 28 days and usually we travel the day before and stay at hotel " Justin and Monic Heene" on High street which is pretty well around the corner from Victoria Hospital on Commissioners Road. And we get to see Christian and now Wesley as well.
Just returned from Jane's latest appointment a few hours ago. Dr Vincent is pleased with the treatment results, as no progression of the cancer cells is observed.
Her blood is tested every 28 days as well as an X-ray is taken at that time in London.
Besides that a CT Scan is taken every 8 weeks in Owen Sound, the results of which are forwarded to London. She still receives bone enhancer every 4 weeks in Owen Sound as well as visits every 3 months with Dr Aboo.  She continues to be on anti-depressants and other medications to deal with the side affects where possible, but it all keeps her an a fairly "even keel".
We know ourselves to be blessed in particular thru the prayers of so many of you the world over and the ministry of brothers and sisters from the First CRC of Owen Sound. On occasion we take advantage of the freezer meals that are available there and 2 ladies have come over at times to give the main floor a cleaning.
We were able to rent the cottage on Lake Couchiching for 2 weeks. Marc and Benj and there families were not able to come, but were able to host the Salls and Mo with Christian and Wesley in the first week. Lake water was 80 degrees farhenheit so swimming all the time. To warm for serious fishing.
With the goat herd gone, it does not take much time to look after the cows, veal and calves in barns.
Was able to harvest the first cut of hay, of which I sold 325 large bales (4x5) off the field and the rest is stored in the tarpbarns for later sale.
Besides the maintenance of our own equipment, I still get opportunities to do some machining and fabricating in my own shop, which I still enjoy very much.
Still trying to organize the shops which is taking forever, but Benj said: Remember Dad it took you more then 20 years to make this "chaos" so it is going to take a bit longer.
Well here you have the latest in our lives.
When ever I write a blog it feels like I am always "blowing my own horn", as this is only a one way conversation. As well as we do not know who reads this blog. Truth is we are very much interested in what is happening in your lives. So please let us know if you like this blog via nrdrmr@xplornet.com
Blessings to you all.  Marinus & Jane.
